Over the years we have heard of many things we can do to be more successful in life and our careers. We learned we need to; dress for success, act as if…, put on a smile J, have a firm handshake, work more hours, be a go-getter, and sacrifice time with our family to get ahead and win in our lives.
“Self-image sets the boundaries of individual accomplishment”
– Dr. Maxwell Maltz
Self-image plays a critical role in your success. Through just a ‘slight shift’ in your personal image you can use your genius and talent to produce any desired results you want.
The opinion you have of yourself will always be reflected to the outside world around you. Others will see you as YOU see you. Your current results are based on your current self-image. Improve or change your self-image and you will improve or change your results.
There are two ways you see yourself.
- The image that reflects back to you in the mirror.
- The image you hold in your mind.
“Human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.”
– William James
You have a perception of yourself we call your inner self-image. It is the combination of what you are, who you are, and your self-worth. This triad of belief built inside of your mind becomes your inner control mechanism. This control mechanism always brings you back to this inner set point of ‘WHO’ you are in your mind. So no matter how hard you TRY to change, unless you change this inner belief your mind will always bring you back. You have probably found yourself in this vicious cycle. I know I did before I understood how the MIND works.
Your outer image is how you project yourself to the world. It includes how you talk, dress, meet and greet people. Your outer image is always a reflection of your inner image.
“In order to achieve the success that you desire you must get your inner and outer image congruent with what you want.” – Dr. Shelley Nash
RESULTS are always a reflection of your inner world, no matter what that is. Negative and bad produces negative and bad. Positive and good produces positive and good.
Your self-image in your subconscious mind is how the world sees you. You are the only person that can change your self-image. The GREAT NEWS is that you have complete power and choice to do it.
“What you hold in mind produces more of it’s kind.” – Dr. Shelley Nash
